I'm glad I inspired you to write - welcome to the club!! Are you doing the 8:30 or 10 start for the Hypo in Edmonton? I'm doing the 8:30. I'd love to do an IM one day!! I'm not sure if I can do it but I'd really like to volunteer at IM Canada next year, it would be great to be a part of the race and get to see it all happen and I have a couple of friends doing it. A full IM is still at least 4 years away for me. I'm going to keep reading your blog so keep it up :0)

I'll be doing the 8:30 start for the Edmonton Hypo. Right now, for me, that goal almost seems impossible!

I have a friend who has done IM Canada twice and he and his wife are my inspiration...

Will you try to do the GWN this year?

Yes, I'm signed up for GWN this year. Big jump considering the longest tri I've done so far is the Sprint. Guess I'm skipping the Olympic distance. By the end of April if I don't feel I'm ready I'm going to roll over my entry to next year but I'm trying to be positive and just keep training. Giving myself an out is pretty negative but I also need to be realistic. I only train about 3 times a week. We'll both be at the Hypo at the same time. You'll be enjoying a nice hot breakfast by the time I finish though.

Are you doing the later entry for the Hypo? We certainly should try and say hi? I am strongly considering the GWN and I have done NO TRI's. Am I nuts? Yes, I think so. Can I do it? Maybe? I probably won't even have a proper bike by then. I think I'll just switch out my MB tires to road tires...

I think it's ok to have an 'out' as long as your overlying goal is to do whatever it takes (without being injured) to keep yourself from the using the out. I guess I should register, hmmm.
