The weight thing, waiting lists, stuff'n

Well, I weighed myself today. I'm so frustrated. I run/excercise now more than I ever have. I'm still not looking like how I feel. I'm still carrying all this weight around with me.

I don't expect to lose weight over the holidays. I think it's entirely unrealistic of me given how much of an emotional eater I am. Still... there's this part of me that wants to look fit. Now.

Okay. Moving on.

So I'm on the wait list for the GWN Tri. I'm really hoping I'll get a spot - if I don't it will certainly be my 2007 pre-Ironman warm-up. If I get in this year and finish (or not) then maybe I'll discover I don't like doing these long distances. There's something nagging my heart for an Ironman still so I'm not giving up yet.

Oh, and I received my New Balance 766's via ebay transaction today. I'm pleased. I hope they will feel as good on as in the store. I'm debating whether to put them under the tree or try them out on my long run Sunday.

So, yes - let's recap my week of running....

Rest Mon, Tues (felt very ill on Tuesday and stayed home from work), Wed 4 hill repeats + 1.5 warmup and 1.5 km cool down, Thursday 4km tempo run with the 2:30 half pace group (because they make me feel happy), Friday (today) rest, Saturday - maybe a short run we'll see but the biggy here: Sunday GOAL14 KM LSR.

I'll let you know if I make it - haha!

If you've noticed my diet is not being posted during the holidays. I feel enough guilt when the turtles touch my lips that I just don't need to post about it!

2 comments for you:
1. Don't worry so much about what you're eating! There is nothing wrong with a couple of chocolates - everything in moderation is the key. A little chocolate or junk food is not harmful. Stop beating yourself up. In general you eat really well and there is nothing wrong with a treat.
2. I am certainly not the voice of experience so you may want to check on the Darkside forum, but I have heard that you shouldn't do a Half IM to "warm up" for the full. A Half IM is very taxing on the body and you may not be able to recover in time for Penticton. If you're doing IM you may want to train and then take it easy to prepare. Again, I'm totally new at this myself and cannot speak from experience. I don't want you to burn yourself out before the big race.

Take care and have a Merry Christmas!!

Thanks Kerry - hopefully I can get into the GWN this year. I'd prefer to concentrate on 2007 IM as the 'big race' and (you're right) not tax my body so much...

(also - I'm eating rice cakes and yogurt today to make up for my turtles, rum balls, truffles, beer, cheese cheese cheese and ice cream from last week!)
