I'll be getting back into the pool again today for a long swim. I'm looking forward to it but, as always, I'm nervous. I don't seem to have much skill in the pool but I just don't quit and I try all the drills Glen puts on the board. So that's worth something, right?
As I get further away from that last Half Marathon I gain more and more perspective on it. I think I was being pretty hard on myself for feeling like I'd failed Deb. We went out on Thursday for our clinic wrap up party and there were no hard feelings... we both talked about how difficult the run was for us and she even said she now knows she could have pushed herself harder! :) The pictures are up on the running room site and I won't even link to mine (though you could find them quite easily) simply because they are horrible! The frost around my toque, the tired expression - yuck yuck yuck! Oh well. Deb has a very cute one of her jumping across the finish line. She seems happier than I was at the end.
I may (maybe maybe maybe *crosses fingers*) have a spot in the Great White North half iron. I'm waiting and might hear in the next couple of weeks. This means I really have to get on the bike and get going on that part of my endurance.... HOWEVER - it keeps snowing!
I love the snow and it's very pretty, but it is a little bit of a downer to my training schedule (which hasn't been contemplated yet - I have to find some examples online maybe).
Oh well... I'm procrastinating. Time to get my swimming stuff in order.
