I finally talked myself into running again.
Wednesday morning 2 weeks and a few days after the Hypo in Edmonton - I got dressed in my running clothes and got the kids ready for daycare. I came up with a million excuses in my head why I did NOT need to run yet but I felt physically ready and mentally really wanted to get 'back in the game'.
So I did. I ran alone - did just under 5K at a good pace with a nice big hill. The sun was so bright I felt like I was getting a sunburn and the streets and trails were clear.
It was very good.
My husband and I now have a babysitter for Thursday nights. This means we can both go out and run and though we don't run together, in essence we are out together. Last night was our first night. John is joining Cindy's 10K clinic again and I am going to be group leading for the Half Marathon Clinic - 2:30/to complete. The clinics are staggered so I will be swimming after my run most likely. Or biking? I'm thrilled. Last night was wonderful - another 5K under my belt and I'm feeling much more focused.
Coronation is coming up and I haven't been able to do any biking yet. As soon as the snow is clear and the roads are safe(r) I will be riding up and down Groat Hill and doing some long bikes on Sunday mornings before my runs.
