update

This week has been good. I tried out the indoor trainer that a friend lent to me and got some 'ass time' in the saddle. I'm gradually going to build up my indoor rides and will ride to and from my long runs (most likely) on Sundays. Next week I'll ride my bike up and down Groat Hill until I can't stand it anymore (once? twice? let's hope for four)...

I went back to the swimming group this week and the coach had me doing kick drills while the others swam their speed drills. It was nice to get some personal coaching and I felt improved afterwards. I swam 200 m on my own after the session was over and concentrated on what I had learned. I'm now thinking I should bump my time up slightly (5minutes?) for the Coronation Tri but maybe I should stick with the longest time and if I feel strong I can always pass people.

As far as running goes - I signed up for the St. Albert 10 miler. This may not have been a good idea since my long runs have not exceeded 10K since my last half marathon - however - it will be a good test of my overall endurance/base training and I'm not looking for a fast time. I'm a little concerned that this will be a 'speedy' race though and I'll be left in the dust ;-) No worries - I know it's going to be fun.

I want to say a special thanks for the kind words of a person who reads my journal. I've been struggling with finances, support issues and self-doubt and your words came at a very crucial time. Again, thank you so much.
