almost 11 - I should be in bed

I ran today in the heat. Only for an hour and it was hot hot hot. I kept thinking this is how it's going to feel on race day, except your legs won't be as fresh. I had one moment of fast pace in the shade. It felt REALLY good, but I held it back after and felt happy that I wanted to move quicker but wise enough to know it's not time yet.

(btw my quick is many other's slow, or even very slow - but it's a progression and I'm actually happy to be where I am right now which is just moving forward)

So my throat is a little scritchy. We were in the ER with Noah Friday night. He has strep throat. He was severely dehydrated. He's on the mend now. I just have to wash my hands lots and hope that the bug won't find it's way into me.

Tomorrow I'm headed out to Sylvan Lake for my last long ride and T run before the big race.

Did I mention the big race? Yeah well - it's looming. I'll be ok though. As I get closer I get clearer that no matter what I'm out there to do my best. I can't control the weather (it's forecasting rain and wind now). I can only control how I react to each situation as it arises... I have to say I'm getting excited.

Be well friends and happy training and or tapering!
