No. Not what you think. I took the family to Winners today. Ok this after spending some money on a new bike helmet and running tights then thinking I still needed a nice shirt. Really I'm not into the sport for the gear but I do like the gear. It was about time I replaced my old bell helmet anyway. It didn't quite match the pretty white bike I'm sporting now.
There were no nice running shirts so I bought some new jeans at winners (and they fit!). Down a couple sizes. And I'm packing for Vancouver with a bit of a smile on my face. Not sure if I can explain it, just that I feel a new confidence building.
If you had asked me this morning though (after 12 x 50's all out) I would have said forget about it - I suck and every person who's faster than me can go straight to ....
Yes, I realize I'm rambling quite a bit.
My plan for Vancouver is to try and stick with the 2:30 pace bunny. I have NO time goal for this race. Truly. But I really really don't want it to suck. I want to enjoy myself while running. I want to feel at the end of it that NEXT time I will be faster. I'm not naive, I know that it's going to take a whole bunch of quality running sessions. The nice thing is, my heart is back in it.
And a note to mytrilife, thanks for the suggestion to remove the question mark.
